Let go,
let go—release everything,
grasp only that It
bondages of the world—
honour, disgrace, kin, companions—
migratory birds,
fleeting like your very flesh.
today, they sing in chorus
tomorrow, they will soar away
or else, be reduced to dust
today,
there is time,
there is celebration,
this place, this moment—
hold them tight,
let them linger here, now, for
It is the refuge of the forsaken
faith of the faithless,
god of the devout
It sits
beside you, waiting
for ages untold,
for lifetimes unseen
shed all false, soiled garments,
let your sole incantation be
to attain only that It
what is
eternal, what is timeless—
your own undeniable existence
cling to that alone
beneath your open sky,
upon your own land,
let your life find Its meaning
