Taking off

Taking off

The sense of right and wrong,
Stayed with the body and
For far too long;
Cotton with water to soothe the hurt,
A heaviness the shook and made alert;
Lines were lying deep inside,
Of humming that beckoned the confused mind.

The sense of wrong left long ago,
The feather took off from an on-going show;
Waters dried and released the thread,
The cotton so light with weather married;
Looking at the world and
With such clarity,
Heaviness has left its dignity.
