delinquent

delinquent

You sound sweet, they have to admit.
There’s a sense of melody,
The noise is, when you strive to sit.
On their treasured measured property
Every time I look at you,
Your rhythm only blesses me
Binds letters with destiny,
I wonder why the sound and look
Don’t marry with the meaning book?
You look and sound so delicate
How horrid is your worth so then!
Do the kids who stick to you
Come from a different den!

Oyé O cries Peter Pan
Santa, Tooth fairy, Piper don’t show
All stuck in caravan.
Have left the town with time and age
Red with anger, wise and rage?
Calling me, so I don’t grow
Calling me so, I don’t grow.
My eyes don’t yet go off your sight
Although, I read and sing until it lies
Soft are they so sitting right?

With open eyes I realise
Rain of questions pouring in
Logic, sense is all within.
They ragged me when I didn’t know
Was hiding in the address though?
They dragged, and threw me out of schools
Teams of learned, grown up fools.
They find me weird and crooked still
Drag me to the court to show
Pluck me like a daffodil?

The word and worth are not to flow.
All I longed was to just exist,
So sat on you, to all resist.
I go back where my nest is strong
Unchained from your worth to be,
Standing on the property
Hey tell them not to get me wrong
For they are also kids like me,
Pass me off as elegant?
The crime of rhyme from time to grow
Can hide inside a silent saint!
In their eyes and ears I’m happy to be
Forever crude, rude and delinquent!

Unheard

unheard

Your bead is lying on my bed,
It looked at me and perhaps said
A myriad thing I wouldn’t recall
My back is placed against the wall.

I saw your ring on the window-sill,
Waters I hear fall on the floor
For the shower you’re taking still
I lay my ears by the door,

I see your plate with morsel trace,
The chair you sat on a while ago,
You left for work with a smiling face,
Days like these do come and go.

I arouse the promise the necklace made,
I hear the song the ring had said,
Melodies burden do never fade,
You take them off and on instead.

pen-amuse

pen-amuse

my poem came
looking for me
I was looking for my pen
I saw chillies shooting up
From my kitchen garden

She was singing when I was in a meeting place
I looked her in the eye as I was searching for my pen
She was dancing from my office desk on my face
To my head and in my brain
I asked her to stop, she threw a kiss didn’t listen
Open she was with rounds of browns on her chest
There were rhymes and songs pouring from her nest
Off the window she looked like a fish in the cloud
I whispered as I couldn’t speak aloud
          - Stop that dancing it presses my nob
Can’t you see I have to keep my job?
I pleaded her to stop as I had to type my notes
The onlookers looked at me and at the defunct remotes
She went missing there was no sign of pen

I was on the bus when I saw
trains shouting and piercing up and down afar
In between them I saw her jump and thaw
In seconds she flew running beside my car
Kissing on the glass she was dressed in white
Her grace pure and bright
Her eyes could drown I remembered the brown
Her lips like the waves her whole like the sea
I offered her a ring and whispered around
          - will you re-marry me?
She laughed and laughed, looked at me and laughed again
There was thunder first that melted into rain
She was wet, her hands stretched before me her hair flying away
Clearly I heard her say
          - I could, if only you found your pen

She then threw a rage on my face
The glass cracked
I woke up without a trace
Ran straight into my kitchen garden
Saw no chillies but there arrived a pen.
